Position Overview:
The Procurement Manager covers IMW sourcing and procurement activities with the objective of creating value, leveraging worldwide suppliers and logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, and supporting development activities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic:
  • Foster strategic partnerships with IMW suppliers, create communication channels for critical information and ensure on time delivery of components is met.
  • Make & support the ‘where-to-make’ and ‘what-to-make-or-buy’ decisions.
  • Manage the purchasing team to ensure KPI’s.
  • Reviews and adjusts procurement strategies to adapt to changes in the market or organizational needs.
Tactical:
  • Negotiate supplier contracts with terms, conditions, pricing and delivery.
  • Manage suppliers with respect to performance versus schedule, pricing and quality.
  • Identify cost reduction initiatives through sourcing or working with existing suppliers.
  • Identify and direct suppliers on best logistics methods to meet demand.
  • Create, update and manage Purchase Orders using the MRP/ERP systems.
  • Deliver information to all suppliers and potential vendors on quality, cost, delivery and other performance criteria.
  • Direct cross functional teams in complex request for proposals or quotes.
  • Conduct technical sourcing as needed to meet IMW development and business needs.
Technical / Supplier Development:
  • Conduct supplier surveys to determine suitability to meet IMW needs.
  • Explain and interpret technical drawings to suppliers.
  • Communicate technical issues and requirements to suppliers and to IMW Engineering.
Supply Chain Business Process Integration, globally:
  • Supplier relationship management.
  • Support product development and commercialization.
  • Procurement.
  • Tax efficient supply chain management.
Departmental Management:
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing activities of the organization.
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies including the development, implementation and review of SOPs and KPIs.
  • Maintain adequate employee relations in conjunction with HR (i.e. performance appraisals, discipline, attendance, morale, payroll administration, etc.).
  • Interview, hire and oversee training of staff.
  • Manage project related teams and initiatives.
General:
  • Complete all applicable quality records.
  • Work in accordance with IMW documented policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
  • Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics from Accredited University preferred.
  • Lean training an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of experience in equivalent field required.
  • Proven success in a supervisory, management or leadership role an asset.
LANGUAGE:
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong writing skills for creating reports, correspondence, contracts, requests, bids, and other documentation.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Extensive experience with MRP/ERP software. Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.
CERTIFICATES/LICENCES/PERMITS:
  • APICS certification an asset or other procurement certification considered an asset.
OTHER:
  • Exceptional people skills are a pre-requisite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Have exceptional drive and flexibility to fit in with a growing company.

  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

  • Strong ability to manage global supplier relationships and navigate evolving international trade environments to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and resilient procurement operations.
